I just saw this at Borders, a coffee table book of photographs all of different rooms in Edward Gorey's house. Walls full of books, records, colored glass bottles, chotchkes, nick nacks all photogrpahed in beautiful black and white. For the ultimate Gorey voyeuer.

Re: New Gorey Book
Sun, April 17, 2005 - 2:39 PMI loved a bio I read if Gorey about ten years ago. To paraphrase, it said, "Despite popular opinion, Edward Gorey is neither (a.) British or (b.) Dead."
(This is when he was alive, of course.) -

Re: New Gorey Book
Sun, May 8, 2005 - 5:34 PMThere was an article in the Boston Globe while EG was living about his house in Sandwich and his stuff, written by someone who had made him a gift of salvaged Gothic architectural finilas that he collected. He appeared to be quite a packrat, rooms full of interesting stones arranged interestingly, etc. ("Beware of this and that!) I think he had wallpaper after his own illustrations of wallpaper, but mabye this is bad memory influenced by wishful thinking.
