I have a deck of limited addition Gorey "Tarot Cards" I bought about a year or so before he left this plane.
I am thinking of putting them up for sale .
I have seen one deck on ebay go for about 300.00 .
Does anyone have any ideas on what they might be worth?

Re: Edward Gorey Tarot /Fortune Telling Cards
Fri, April 13, 2007 - 5:56 PMA lot! There were only 700 sets, though the going seems around $300 and up, it is definitely a case of supply & demand. These remind me of Marie Cooley's Tarot of the Tailors which she sells from her corsetry website. You ought probably advertise first, auction long, and make it as open~ended a deal as possible, since there's probably a lot more people out there who would want 'em than know how or where to get a set. -

Thank you .
I will check out her site .
Thing is ,when I bought there it was sight unseen .
I just knew I had to have them.
I was actually a bit dissapointed with them
however I know that is beside the point in regards to collectability .
Thanks for the tip. -

I don't know of any sites, I have been searching trying to find some info about them and their value, butcannot find anything.
I guess I was expecting them to be more like Tarot cards ( which was how they were advertised )
in regards to symbols and such.
They are also laminated, which put me off and I don't know why they are .
Other cards are not laminated.
They are of course dark and humorous, which one would expect.
I do like them, I was just not bowled over by them and at the time I paid 60.00 for them.
Like I said , this was a year or two before he died , so I am sure if any were avaiable after his death
they would have been much more expensive.
As always , the death of an artist greatly increses the value.
