Was sitting reading a Nevada Barr mystery 'Hunting Season' at work when I ran across the line:
"The undertaker's lanky angulated form followed them downstairs like Edward Gorey's uninvited guest, his dark work suit melting in and out of the shadows on the landing."
My co-workers must have thought me mad when I guffawed uncontrollably, but how could I explain? : )
Any other oblique references you’ve encountered while reading?

Fri, January 20, 2006 - 11:58 AMI note also in the book that one of the underlings is named Thigpen, which for some reason strikes me as Gorey in nature but can't place it. Does anyone recall that name used by Gorey?
